Japan's most visited guest ranch is a spacious plot of land home to some 50 reindeer, an animal native to cold climes such as the arctic circle. In winter only, the ranch offers the chance to ride sleds pulled by these reindeer — an experience available to small groups at any time of day. You can even rent Santa Claus costumes for free, helping you really get into the Christmas spirit and snap some unforgettable selfies with your trusty reindeer pals. Visitors also love buying reindeer food (JPY 200) and feeding the reindeer straight out of your hands. The reindeer are well behaved and are used to people, so petting them is encouraged.
